Il monolocale è l'appartamento dei single, o tutt'al più di una coppietta ( a scadenza) date le sue caratteristiche dimensioni ridotte, a volte ai limiti dell'abitabilità, per monolocali da 20 mq. Arredare e rendere vivibile, comodo e carino, allo stesso tempo, un locale così è un'impresa ardua, ma non impossibile.
Per spazi così ridotti la prima cosa fondamentale è focalizzarsi sugli spazi necessari, sulle componenti fondamentali di camera da letto- cucina- bagno. In secondo luogo, posto che soggiorno-salotto- ecc sarebbe del tutto superfluo e impossibile da inserire, bisogna rendere il mono quanto più essenziale possibile, per evitare una " Sindrome di Stendhal domestica". La composizione degli ambienti dovrà basarsi sulle quattro mura portanti della casa, non essendoci altre pareti divisorie. Partendo dalla cucina, meglio optare per una cucina componibile, avente già tutto il necessario assemblato, e dalle dimensioni ridotte, mentre per il completamento dell'area pranzo, meglio optare per un tavolo a scomparsa, semisferico, e sedie richiudibili, senza rinunciare al design con stile.

La camera da letto, che per ovvie ragioni, non potrà essere un luogo privato ed isolato, sarà disposta al lato opposto rispetto alla cucina, in modo tale da non avere fornelli e cuscino nella stessa direzione. La soluzione ideale per ottenere maggior spazio, qualora i soffitti fossero alti, è il soppalco. In questo modo si potrà avere una sorta di intimità " di lenzuola" , e allo stesso tempo, si può ricavare uno spazio " soggiorno" al di sotto del soppalco.

Infine per la soluzione bagno, che deve essere staccato dal resto ed isolato, sempre in dimensioni molto ridotte, è opportuno optare per sanitari non imponenti, e se necessario eliminare il bidet, e ovviamente scegliere un piatto doccia.

Nonostante le dimensioni molto ridotte, le scelte d'arredo per il proprio monolocale non devono essere per forza "povere" e " sterili". Per completare l'operazione mono, è opportuno tenere le pareti sempre ben pulite e dipinte, perché dà luce alla casa, e per l'illuminazione meglio scegliere degli applique, magari anche molto particolare, che fanno già di per se da arredo.

 Ecco di seguito alcune proposte di monolocali un po' particolari per far viaggiare l'immaginazione e la creatività.

The studio flat is the apartment of singles, or at most of couples (in time limit) given the reduced place, sometimes on limit of habitability, for studio flats of 20 mq. To furnish and make liveable, comfortable and nice, at the same time, that kind of room is an arduous challenge, but not impossible.

For so reduced places, it’s fundamental to focus on the necessary space, on fundamental components of bedroom-kitchen-bathroom. Secondly, given that the living room ecc would be completely excess and impossible to insert, you should make the flat as much as possible essential, to spare a “Stendhals’ domestic syndrome”. The composition of the settings should be based on the four load-bearing walls of the house, as there are no other walls that divide the flat. Starting from the kitchen, it’s better if it would be a modular kitchen, having already assembled all you need, and for the reduced dimensions, while for the completion of the dining area, it’s better to opt for a folding table, hemispherical, and folding chairs, without sacrifice design with style.

The bedroom, that for obvious reasons, can’t be a private and isolated place, will be arranged on the opposite side of the kitchen, in order to not to have the stoves and pillows in the same direction. The ideal solution to obtain more place, if the ceilings were high, is a loft. In that way you may have a sort of intimacy “with sheets”, and at the same time, you can obtain more place for the living room under the loft.

Finally, for the bathroom, that have to be divided from the rest and isolated, always in reduced dimensions, it’s suitable to opt for a not too imposing bathroom fixture, and if necessary remove the bidet, and obviously choose a shower stall.

Even though the decreased space, the furnishing choices for the studio flat should not be of necessity “poor” or “in vain”. To complete operation studio flat, it’s appropriate to keep the walls clean and painted, because it gives light to the house, and for the lighting it would be suitable to choose applique, maybe also very particular, that are themselves a furnish.
